As I’ve mentioned in another post, I went to Devon last year for a holiday. I Stayed in a holiday cottage with my family and had a really good time. There was only one bad thing that happened – we got burgled. I say it wasn’t too bad because luckily I had decided to take out holiday home insurance.
My wife is always one for saving a bit of cash, and she almost persuaded me that it was not worth getting any holiday home insurance – after all, it was Devon, wasn’t t? I kind of agreed, but at the last moment decided to get some cover – because my kids were bringing their expensive video games consoles with them (I know, they should have been out in the fresh Devon air, but what can you do?).
So we came back one Saturday evening after a long day at the beach – and low and behold, someone had broken in and taken my kids’ 2 video games consoles. I could believe it – but I’m glad I trusted my instincts and got holiday home insurance, otherwise I’d never hear the end of it from the kids! The insurance company sorted it all out very quickly indeed and the kids have now got brand new consoles.
