We may have had a long cold winter, but the end is in sight. If you’re looking for them, the signs of summer are already clearly visible and, being British we’ll adjust accordingly. After months of complaining about the cold, we’ll soon be moaning about the heat. A good air conditioner will represent the height of luxury.
This is an especially serious problem for office workers. During the hot summer months the working environment can quickly become extremely uncomfortable. Speaking from personal experience I can remember the heavenly sensation of moving to a location fitted with a brand spanking new air conditioner.
As an employee, my concerns are merely about comfort, but business owners have more to consider. It is their responsibility to maintain a comfortable working environment for all workers. An office should remain within a set temperature range.
However, some business owners still decide to skimp on ‘luxuries’ such as an air conditioner to save money, but to do so is a false economy. Not only is it a question of regulatory compliance, but also productivity.
Staff work better when they feel comfortable. If they’re happy then their standard of work will improve. Remember, they are your most precious resource and finding a good air conditioner can help to increase profits in the long run.
