Works been incredibly busy, so much so that I haven’t really had time to get out and sort anything, which becomes a bit of a problem when you have a party approaching and someone is relying on you to source the party products. I didn’t have a lot of options but to cheat and fall back on the one resource that always helps me out when I get stuck in a tight corner, the internet.
My next door neighbour has three basset hounds. It’s really funny to watch my neighbour take them out for a walk, as each one is dressed up in a waistcoat and small dickie bow. Wonderful dog clothes. One is green, one is red and one is yellow. They’re all sisters too.
It’s really nice to sit at the window and watch them go out for walkies. They look great, happily trotting down the road together. Even the owner wears a silly coloured waist coat; but at least he’s an actual man.
I think contact lenses are one of the greatest inventions of all time. Vision provides you with so much information, and if you can’t see, your senses are somehow dulled. It’s like sleep walking really – everything seems to have a fog around it. It’s hard to have a clear mind when you can’t see well.
But for me, contact lenses changed all that. Now I can see everything in perfect detail. Ne of the best things about being able to see 20-20 is being able to see people’s expressions from afar. When you walk into a large room full of people, you can’t always see people you know; or if you can, you can’t see if their expression is inviting/cored/aloof – or indeed if they’ve seen you at all.
When I’m not optimising for internationally renowned websites, I need to wear clothes that make me feel fast. To this end I have invested in some F1 Merchandise to infuse me with this sense if high velocity. Some people think it’s a bit silly, but it makes me feel like Rubens Barrichello, one of my favourite racing drivers.
I get my F1 merchandise from a reputable dealer, who always ensures I get the real thing. I have the right cap, the right racing boots – everything. There’s nothing better than relaxing in my F1 gear, whilst watching the latest Grand Prix.
What’s the best reception in the world? Well it probably doesn’t exist now; but it is sure to exist in the future. Unless the world ends tomorrow. So What would it look like?
The reception furniture of the future would be an everything-in-one affair. You would walk into an office – for an interview perhaps – and there would be no one in the office at all. Then you would hear a voice. It would be coming from a big comfy looking arm chair. It would say “sit down please sir,” it would pause, then say “on me.”
I was at an SEO Conference in Barcelona last week. I got to meet lots of big players in the Spanish SEO industry – which is good as I am planning to open an office there in 2011, and I need plenty of contacts. I love Spain, but one thing I didn’t like was their use of blinds. Particularly in the hotel room where I was staying; it wasn’t that they were cheap blinds – it was just that they blocked all the light out.
Getting business finance these days has become far more problematic than it used to be. It is understandable too, as those who lend us the money – i.e. the banks – have undergone a huge amount of change over recent months.
It is true to say that there used to be a culture of lending money to individuals and businesses in such a way that suggested the bankers were not as strict as they were decades ago. After the recent economic problems the opposite seems to have become de rigeur.

Anyone who is into gadgets and technology will know by now that the Google are on the verge of launching their brand new phone – the Nexus One. By is this a new, exciting product design or just an iPhone wannabe?
On first glance the HTC build Nexus One phone, which has already been officially launched in the US, look remarkably similar to the much loved Apple iPhone with its slim, simplistic, sleek design. But this is any surprise considering the huge success of the iPhone?
2009 seemed to be the year of loosing celebrities; I still cannot quite believe that Michael Jackson is gone. What was most shocking this year was that many young, seemingly healthy celebs passed away. I was genuinely upset and shocked to hear that just-32 year old Brittany Murphy had died and so that Boyzone member Stephen Gately. Two really young celebrities that just seemed to disappear overnight, obviously with any young sudden death there are whispers of foul play, drugs and secrets but really, no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. The private health insurance must be making thousands as these large names have become ill or have to cancel shows. I wonder how large a pay out would have been if Michael Jackson had used his private health insurance to cover missing out on his aptly-named This Is It Tour. Either way, if you are a massive celebrity, you may to think about how insured you are…
