With the Easter holidays on the horizon, car hire companies have been warning customers to book early to secure the best deals. News from various firms suggests that demand is on the increase with an obvious affect on prices.
With that in mind, it makes sense to be prepared and to make preparations for car hire sooner rather than later. If you’re the kind of person who leaves things to the last minute (and there are many of us) then you could find yourself hit in the pocket.
One of the consequences of the recession is that we’re taking care of our homes and that is leading to a boom in demand for houseware items.
In part this is down a change in the way we perceive our homes. They are now somewhere to live for an extended period of time rather than just an investment and one consequence of this change is the increasing amount of money we’re prepared to spend on houseware.
Depending on your needs there are all sorts of products available and they’re more sophisticated than ever before. For instance we no longer choose a simple bread knife. Instead there are all sorts of ultra sophisticated designs to help with whatever you need.
Preparing for a lazy weekend of sleep, sleep, and more sleep!

I’ve often wondered what would happen if your parents decided not to give you a name. It’s not very likely, but it is possible. Or is it? If both your parents decided not to give you one of the many baby names available today, would the government force you to have a name. If so, what would they go for? Maybe they’d just choose the name of the Prime Minister – and his wife if it’s a girl.
I’ve always been on package holidays. Every year, it’s been either Spain or Greece. But last year I decided to stay in the UK for my holidays – because I thought it might be a bit cheaper (the exchange rate does not do me any favours) and because I really fancied trying one of those self catering holidays.
As I’ve mentioned in another post, I went to Devon last year for a holiday. I Stayed in a holiday cottage with my family and had a really good time. There was only one bad thing that happened – we got burgled. I say it wasn’t too bad because luckily I had decided to take out holiday home insurance.
My wife is always one for saving a bit of cash, and she almost persuaded me that it was not worth getting any holiday home insurance – after all, it was Devon, wasn’t t? I kind of agreed, but at the last moment decided to get some cover – because my kids were bringing their expensive video games consoles with them (I know, they should have been out in the fresh Devon air, but what can you do?).
I went to the Czech Republic and Poland last summer, and I have to say I was blown away by these countries. I took loads and loads of pictures of places like Gdansk, Warsaw, Kracow and Prague. In fact, I think I took too many! It’s really difficult to give people a good idea of how great the holiday was when you’ve got about 600 photos simply stored on your computer – it was a problem at least, until I discovered photo books.
I’ve never had one of those motorhomes, but I’ve always wanted one. The problem is that I can’t actually drive. Well, I can drive but I haven’t done it for so long that I don’t trust myself behind the wheel. With that in mind I find the idea of driving to the south of Spain in a motorhome completely terrifying.
