At first I thought it was a bad idea – but in the end she persuaded me to do it. We put down a deposit on one of those new houses that so many people seem to want. It was a nice house I have to admit – it has a nice little garden it too.

In Scotland you have the Highlands, in England you have places in the Lake District or Dartmoor, in Wales you have places like Mount Snowdon and the area surrounding it. I took this little French car across the channel on the ferry, then I drive to Brussels where I said hello to the EU parliament, then I travelled across to Berlin which I really liked. Berlin is a very liberal city – most unlike any other city I’ve been to. Cleaner than Paris, more laid back than London, and easier to get to than New York. In Berlin you can find all sorts of people – whatever you’re into, Berlin is the place to go. And car hire can help you get there.

From Berlin I travelled down to the south western part of Germany where my uncle lives. I drive myself and my uncle around the black forest which has some of the prettiest countryside I’ve ever seen. Good food and good coffee too – I recommend it!
